Frosh
First years, join us at our weeklong welcoming event filled with lots of fun activities. Frosh is an excellent event to meet your new first-year engineering classmates.
Annual Events

OpFair
OpFair is SFU’s largest tech-based career fair held annually by the ESSS for all FAS students. OpFair is an excellent opportunity for students to network with companies and look for co-op jobs or simply careers.
Frosh
Frosh is the annual weeklong welcoming event for SFU engineering students held at the start of September. During a typical year, Frosh generally has an orientation, merch sale, BBQ, Midnight Madness, and other fun activities.
Pi Week
Pi week runs the week of March 14 each year. The events each day of the week change up every year, but you can generally expect a couple of fun social events and a merch sale. Close to the week, you can find the week’s schedule on our Instagram.
Iron Ring
The Iron Ring is a symbol and reminder of the professional obligations and ethics worn by Canadian engineering graduates. The ESSS manages SFU student registration and office sizing for the ceremony.
